Sichuan Tour 2007

We were in Sichuan in June 2007 for a 10-days tour coordinated by Green Islands Tours. This tour combined the typical sight seeing of famous tourist spots and other less ‘touristy-comfy’ activities such as a full day exploration at the beautiful Mt Siguniang (四姑娘山）by horse, trekking at the Mt Gongga Glaciers.

Our tour commenced from Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan. From there, we traveled westward towards the mountain peaks and grasslands.

As you can see from the map, our tour covered many locations that are quite a distance apart. The road conditions, particularly from Xinduqiao （新都桥） onwards, were very rough. But the sceneries en-route are beautiful. Xinduqiao was nicknamed the 'Photographer's Haven'.

Besides nature, we visited one of the minority tribe of China - Zang Zu（藏族）. The Zang Zu tribe is further sub divided into different tribes. We visited the homes of the Jiarong Tibetan （嘉绒藏族）, Kang Zang （康藏）and Ba Zang （巴藏）tribes in this tour.

And not forgetting the beautiful, adorable and ever charming Giant Pandas.
