Fn+Spacebar
To switch to a magnified display temporarily. This works on my IBM T42 notebook. When I press [Fn] and [Spacebar] together, the display on my notebook switches from 1024 x 768 pixels display to 800 x 600 pixels. When I press [Fn] and [Spacebar] together again, the display return to the original display size - 1024 x 768 pixels.

Fn+F12
To switch off the notebook in “hibernate” mode. This is the fastest method I found so far. Press [Fn] and [F12] together.
